Consisting of a number of key tourism hubs, the Shire offers a plethora of unique experiences, including the Royal National Park - right on Sydney’s doorstep. To spread the word about our many tourism experiences council has assisted the development of the Shire Tourism Network.
The key role of council is assisting the growth of a pro-active, diverse and sustainable tourism industry. Through growing exposure of the Shire as a tourism destination; our aim is to increase visitation and hence stimulate local businesses and create local jobs.
The tourism services/roles offered and undertaken by council include:
· Tourism business start up advice and guidance
· Business development – workshops & Seminars
· Brand development & tools for operators
· Tourism precinct and market driven network programs
· Co-operative marketing activities
· Visitor information services
· Disseminate tourism industry information & provide networking
opportunities
Tourism partners have an active voice and are major drivers in strategy and direction through council’s Tourism Sub Committee
It’s an exciting time for tourism in the Shire as we grow and develop our networks and muscle in on Sydney’s tourism scene.
