Sutherland Shire Council has a clear vision for Economic Development and a number of programs, facilities and initiatives in place to help businesses 'do business' in the Shire.

Sutherland Shire Council works towards the vision along three strategic directions:

1. Pursue economic development that respects people and nature

2. Encourage a strong and diversified economy that supports local employment

3. Promote life-long learning opportunities
